Day Place Programs
1 Dushanbe Arrival in Dushanbe (Tajikistan): Transfer to Hotel. Rest day. Evening walking around the Dushanbe streets. Dinner in Tajik National Chai Khana (Tee Place). This is the perfect place for adaptation and to be ready for the journey. Accommodation in Dushanbe Hotel.


2 Dushanbe – Panjakent

(236 km)

After breakfast Drive to Panjakent (236 km) along the Varzob Gorge.Visit the most ancient settlement in Central Asia, Sarazm, dating back more than 5000 Years, Visit Rudaki Historic Ethnographic Museum. Lunch at a traditional home with the chance to taste Plov, a Penjikent recipe. Introduction to the culture and history during an excursion to an ancient city (8th-9th century). Drive to Nofin village (55km, 1.5 hours). Dinner and home stay in Nofin.


3 Nofin Following breakfast, hike in the gorge “Du Oba” (4-5km, 2 – 2.5 hours). Lunch at the home stay. In the afternoon explore the village, visiting an ancient fortress and an introduction to ancient methods of treating diseases using “Mumiyo”. Overnight at the

home stay.


4 Shing Following breakfast, drive to the 6th lake, where the hike will start Walk up to the 7th lake (2km, 1 hour). Picnic on the shore of Hazor Chashma lake After the picnic hike to the summer pastures (8km, 3 hours). Return to the 6th lake and drive to Shing village. Dinner and rest at home stay in Shing.


5 Shing – Dushanbe Following breakfast, explore the village and taste mountain honey made in the Shing Village. At approx 11am return to Penjiknet. Lunch in Penjikent. Drive to Dushanbe. Accommodation in Dushanbe Hotel.
6 Dushanbe – Hissar Breakfast at hotel.

Sightseeing the city. Visit the Museum of National Antiquities with exhibits primarily from Tajikistan’s pre-Islamic civilizations: the Greek, Bactrian, Buddhist, Hindu, and Zoroastrian periods. There is statue of Alexander the Great and wall paintings from ancient Penjikent. The most notable piece in the museum is the enormous, fifteen-hundred-year-old reclining Buddha, which is the largest in existence. Considering that Tajikistan has been so disadvantaged by poverty and politics, the museum is a testament to the people’s desire to catch up with the rest of the world.

Lunch in Tajik National Chai Khana (Tee Place).

After lunch drive to Hissar fortress (surrounded by monuments and mausoleums of XVII-XVIII centuries). Return to Dushanbe.

Dinner. Overnight in hotel.


7 Dushanbe Breakfast, at hotel.

Transfer to Airport for departure flight


End of service.
