1 Uz.border

Oibek – Khujand

(around) 100 km

Meeting in Oibek – The Tajik-Uzbek border and transfer to Khujand. Sightseeing.

Lunch at the local restaurant, further visit ancient part of Khujand, “Timurmalik fortress”, Archeology and History museum “Soghd”, Visit the fortress by the Syr Darya River and the Khujand ethnographic museum. Visit the Panjshanbe Bazaar and Sheikh Musliddin Madrassa dedicated to a 12th century poet.

2 Khujand –

Istaravshan – Penjikent

Breakfast, after will drive to Istaravshan. Sightseeing of Istaravshan: visit Mugtepa, Kuk-Gumbaz, local bazaar. Further will continue trip to the historical city Penjikent. Will drive through beautiful Shakhristan Pass 3378m (210km, aprox 5-6hours.). Lunch in a café, which is located on the beautiful Shahristan gorge.

Dinner and overnight at the homestay in Penjikent.


3 Penjikent –

7 lakes 75km – Nofin

After breakfast, spend unforgettable day in Penjikent – Penjikent was a major city. Established in the 5th century AD by the Sogdians. Visit Historic-ethnographic museum Rudaki, introduction to the culture and history during the excursion to ancient City (8th – 9th Century AD). Lunch at local restaurant, and driving towards 7-lakes to the beautiful Nofin village, which is located on the shore of the 4th lake. (55km, approx. 2 hours). Dinner and overnight at the homestay.
4 Nofin – Marguzor lake- Shing 40km After breakfast driving up to the 6th lake “Marguzor” (10km, 40min.) From the 6th lake will start  hike to the 7th lake “Hazorchashma” (2139m), which means “Thousand of springs” (4km(go/back), 2 hours). Short stay on the shore of the lake, walking around the lake and returning to the 6th lake. Driving back to the Nofin village for the lunch. Afternoon will leave Nofin and drive to the Shing village.

Dinner and overnight in Shing village.

5 Shing – Iskanderkul- Saratog 195km After breakfast  drive to the legendary Alexander lake (Iskandarkul), named after the conqueror Alexander (2195m). For the lunch stop in Ayni district. After continue  trip to Iskanderkul. On the arrival short stop in Iskanderkul, sightseeing further drive up to the beautiful Saratog village which is located 10km from Iskanderkul.

6 Saratog – Iskanderkul – Dushanbe 155km After breakfast driving to Dushanbe – to the capital of the Tajikistan. It is the largest city, as well as political, cultural and economic centre of the country.Will drive over Anzob tunnel and beautiful Varzob Gorge (155 km, approx 4hours). After checking hotel, lunch at the local restaurant. Afternoon city tour of Dushanbe, monument Ismoili Somoni, Rudaki Park, Botanical garden.

7 Dushanbe- Hissar Breakfast at hotel.

Sightseeing the city. HazratiMavlono mosque. Visit the Museum of National Antiquities with exhibits primarily from Tajikistan’s pre-Islamic civilizations: the Greek, Bactrian, Buddhist, Hindu, and Zoroastrian periods. There is statue of Alexander the Great and wall paintings from ancient Penjikent. The most notable piece in the museum is the enormous, fifteen-hundred-year-old reclining Buddha, which is the largest in existence. Considering that Tajikistan has been so disadvantaged by poverty and politics, the museum is a testament to the people’s desire to catch up with the rest of the world.

Lunch in Tajik National Chai Khana (Tee Place) “Rohat”.

After lunch drive to Hissar fortress (surrounded by monuments and mausoleums of XVII-XVIII centuries). Return to Dushanbe.

Dinner.Overnight in hotel.


8 Dushanbe Breakfast, at hotel.

Transfer to Airport for departure flight
