Dushanbe

Arrival at Dushanbe airport, where you will be met and assisted to your hotel. Visit the Museum of National Antiquities with exhibits primarily from Tajikistan’s pre-Islamic civilizations: the Greek, Bactrian, Buddhist, Hindu, and Zoroastrian periods. There is statue of Alexander the Great and wall paintings from ancient Panjakent. The most notable piece in the museum is the enormous, fifteen-hundred-year-old reclining Buddha, which is the largest in existence. Considering that Tajikistan has been so disadvantaged by poverty and politics, the museum is a testament to the people’s desire to catch up with the rest of the world. Dinner in Tajik National Chai Khana (Tee Place). Accommodation in Dushanbe hotel.

Sightseeing the city. Hazrati Mavlono mosque, Monument Ismoili Somoni, Rudaki Park. Lunch in Tajik National Chai Khana (Tee Place).

Dushanbre  Hissar  Tursunzade

Breakfast at hotel.

Excursion to Hissar Valley. Just a short distance from Dushanbe (35 km), on a wide plain surrounded by mountains, lies the Hissar Historic Cultural Reserve, where we will explore the fascinating remains of an 18th and 19th century archaeological complex consisting of a fortress, madras, and an ethnographic museum. Drive to Tursunzoda.

Lunch at a local restaurant in Tursunzoda. Sightseeing. Excursion on the museum Aluminum Plant.

Return to Dushanbe. Free time. Overnight in Hotel.

Norak

Breakfast at hotel.

After breakfast will drive to the high dam of the world “Nurek”. Distance from Dushanbe (70 km), Nurek city is located on the river Vakhsh. Nurek – the first nuclear power plant in the country. The dam is 300 meters from the station, making it the highest dam in the world, the surface area of the reservoir 98 km, volume – 10.5 km in length – about 70 km. Visiting Hydro Electric Station and Nurek reservoir. Lunch at the Nurek and return to Dushanbe.

Dinner at a restaurant, overnight in hotel.

Varzob

Breakfast at hotel.

Drive to Varzob which is located 12 km from Dushanbe in the picturesque gorge Varzob inside which flows 7 mountains river. In the right side of the river gorge Varzob is the most beautiful waterfall in the Hissar range –Gusgarf (30 m height). To the waterfall is a footpath, on the slopes, you can see a lot of red tulips, where briar blooms and other plants. Picnic and BBQ. Return to Dushanbe. Visiting the market “Mehrgon” and shops  (stores) for buying souvenirs. Overnight in Hotel.
