CULTURAL TOUR IN PAMIR KNOT OF SILK ROAD

|1||Dushanbe||Arrival in Dushanbe (Tajikistan): Transfer to Hotel. Rest day. Evening walking around the Dushanbe streets. Dinner in Tajik National Chai Khana (Tee Place). This is the perfect place for adaptation and to be ready for the journey to Pamir. Accommodation in Dushanbe Hotel.
|2||Dushanbe – Hissar||After breakfast Drive to Hissar. Excursion to Hissar Fortress, the Kohna Madrassah museum and nearby Seminary. Lunch at a local restaurant in Hissar. Return and overnight in Hotel in Dushanbe.|
|3||Dushanbe – Kalaikhum||After breakfast drive head east on the famous Pamir Highway via Khatlon and Kulob Region. Overnight in Kalaikhum.|
|4||Kalaikhum – Khorog||Kalaikhum- Khorog: The road will follow near Panj River, a tributary of the mighty Amu Darya (the famous River Oxus). Khorog is the administrative centre of the Pamir region, dramatically set deep in the valley at the confluence of the Panj and Gunt rivers and boxed in by the mountain peaks. Visit, to the Ethnographical Museum, Botanical Garden (one of the highest in the world) and the site of one of Central Asia’s few university campuses. Accommodation in hotel.|
|5||Khorog – Ishkashim||Leaving Khorog in the morning and viewing Afghanistan from the right we well continue our road toward Ishkashim. On the way we will visit to the famous Hot Spring “Garm Chashma”, were the people from The Post-Soviet Countries come for cueing proposes. Guest House.|
|6||Ishkashim – Murgab||Today we will drive to Murghab (373 km). It is very long and hard drive. The road without asphalt. This is the Pamir branch of The Great Silk Road. We will see the local shrines all with trophy heads of Marco Polo sheep and Ibexes hunted by locals with traditions dating back in history. We stand here at the mouth of Wakhan Corridor overlooking the Afghan Badakhshan (the place of famous history of Pamirs, named “The Great Game”). This part of the region is dotted with a variety of religious sites from Sufi shrines, Buddhist Stupas and Zoroastrian Fire Temples. On the way visit to KahKaha and Yamchun that once guarded this branch of the Silk Road, bathing in hot Sacred spring BibiFotimaiZahro in Vichkut and Buddha Stupa in Vrang. After lunch we will leave Langar with the spectacular views of Afghanistan, the ice-capped summit of the Wakhan Range, and the Pamir River which marking the border and crossing Khargushi pass, driving on M41 HW, via AlichulValley we will come to Murghab. Murghab is centre of district, were living Kyrgyz and Tajik people. Home Stay.|
|7||Murgab – Kyzyl||Murghab-Kyzyl Art pass. Today we will take our finally road to Kyzyl Art Border post via AqBaital pass (4655 m) and Karakul Lake-the biggest lake in Tajikistan. Here we will have a opportunity for a short walk near the lake and Kara kul Village.|

Temperatures: please note that there can be large variations in temperatures. In daytime it can be very hot and a thin layer of clothing will be comfortable but long sleeves protect you from the sun rays. At night it can be cold so a layered approach is best. Predicting temperatures is very hard but they could range between 0’C and + 25”C in summer time. October will be cold (-8 and +5’C). Rainfall in the Pamir at this time of year is not expected but dust storms are. Please take a waterproof layer and warm cloth.
